Your Eyes
I always tell you it’s your hands that captivate me, your arms that restrain me, your mouth that consumes me, and your smile that soothes me. But really, truthfully? It’s all done with just your eyes.
Your eyes were hungry – not in homage to a bad 80’s tune or a overdone metaphor, but a real, primal, ravenous hunger. They ate me up – consuming my soul with their icy stare, feasting on my being with their piercing gaze. They didn’t have to catch me – I was already theirs, a banquet before them, ready to be served. Exposed and raw, like a piece of meat.
Your eyes were predatory – like a cat, stalking its prey from behind thin bushes. They trailed along my body with slow purpose, assessing me for any and every weak point, eager to strike yet waiting for the exact right moment. Hungry, predatory eyes threatening to take me in a way that would leave me screaming for mercy, that would leave me a broken mass. Terrifying, yet comforting – the thrill of the chase coming to a head.
But then, of course, there were your smiling eyes. The eyes that took joy in watching me squirm, watching me cower. Smiling at my quivers, and at the conquest laid before them. Their smile was unmistakable – crinkled lines at their edges, soft lashes trembling around their steely glassiness. Grinning unbearably hard, bursting from the sheer joy of accomplishment, of triumph and success. Smiling with happiness, and for the simple pure act of experiencing the moment between us.
As fast as their smile cascaded across them, your eyes filled with laughter. Deep, body shaking laughter, silent and still except in those windows to within. Their laughter was many things – pride, perhaps, and certainly euphoria. Your eyes laughed deep soulful laughs with me, watching me as my body throbbed with howls of delight and delirium. Your eyes stood by and watched, chuckling softly to themselves as I cooed and swooned under their watchful gaze. Your eyes laughed when I saw their predatory hunger smiling at me, showing me their many facets all at once.
But then, do you realize that beneath all of that, beneath all the bravado and all the softness I saw something raw and human? Your eyes spoke to me about vulnerability, about finding acceptance in an uncertain place, and about the tenderness deep within. Your eyes, so vulnerable. So caring. So kind. So loving. So easy to trust, so easy to accept, so easy to peer into - not because I want more, but because I want them as they are – presented to me, here and now, all pretenses removed, all defenses lowered. Just you and me and your eyes peering at me from deep within you.
It’s all in your eyes, you know. The reasons I care and the reasons I keep coming back for more. They betray your intentions; they tell me there is nothing to fear. They tell me I am safe, and I believe them. They tell me everything and they tell me nothing – they watch me, they consume me, and they leave me exposed before you. Everything on display; nothing hidden; nothing veiled. To me they speak the language of our dance, of the violent intimacy we share, of our unspoken affection and above all else, quite simply, of love.
