Wet Together
Wet is a familiar brand name in lubricants, but this “Wet Together†product is relatively new. Marketed as a couple’s product – she applies to him, he applies to her, and together…KABLAMO! – Wet Together is actually two lubricants, one that warms (water based), one that cools (silicone based).
The “For Him†bottle is blue, just in case you get confused, and contains a viscous, slippery, water based lube. Alone, it’s nothing special – it dries fast and gets sticky, because it is just glycerin (and presumably water). It warms as it’s rubbed, because it holds onto the heat from the rubbing for just a few moments, but this feeling is easier felt on inner labia or a hand, not so much on a cock. The “For Her†bottle is pink, and contains a very thin silicone lube, spiked with tingly cool peppermint oil. I love the way this lube feels – but I like the feeling of peppermint oil on my bits.
When combined, the resulting potion is quite a nice lube – smooth and slippery, not at all sticky, and certainly long lasting. It’s a little too complicated for my tastes to have to apply two different lubes, but the pink lube on its own is also really nice just when I want a silicone lube with added punch. Check out sextoy.com for a wide selection of sex toys and lubricants
Best For: Hand sex – this lube is excellent, either as individual parts or together, for giving a killer handjob.
Lame For: Vaginal sex, because of the glycerin in the “For Him†lube. Avoid the “For Her†lube for oral sex.
Do Not Use For: silicone toys

Ingredient Analysis:
For Him:
- Glycerin – This is the glycerin that we all know and love. Its moisturizing, and a humectant (holds onto water), but could be a potential meal for thrush, leading to a yeast infection. Those prone should avoid lubes with glycerin. Glycerin tastes sweet, and gets really really sticky when it dries up. I am not a huge fan.
For Her:
Small, Cyclic Silicone Oils: These oils are thin, so they prevent the final product from solidifying upon extended shelf sitting (think about how cooking oil left on a shelf for a long long time can sometimes solidify, especially at lower temperatures). These oils are emollients, meaning they moisturize, not greasify
- Cyclopentasiloxane – A common cosmetic silicone oil, which is small and cyclic in structure. It is found in lipsticks, hair products etc. It is pretty much non toxic and only dangerous if you get it in your eye (and it’s bad news in your eye, flush immediately and get to a hospital) or if you had a lot of it and lit it on fire.
Large, Linear Silicone Oils: These oils are thick and viscous, and impart the qualities one truly wants in a lube – thickness and longevity.
- Dimethicone – A silicone polymer which is viscous like honey. It is much bigger than cyclopethasiloxane and cyclomethicone, and it is a straight chain. Because of this, it is much more viscous and thick. It is a widely accepted food and cosmetic additive, used for things like hair products, body implants, head lice treatment, drug additives…so on and so forth. It is totally safe.
- Dimethiconol – a somewhat more sophisticated silicone oil than Dimethicone. It feels nicer to the touch, meaning it’s less viscous and more moisturizing.
- Phenyl Trimethicone – Much like dimethiconol, this is a silicone polymer. It is less widely used in food and cosmetics, and is not food safe. As compared to dimethiconol, it is a bit more “organic†(in chemistry terms), which basically means it’s more lubricating.
Preservatives:
- Tocopheryl Acetate a.k.a. Vitamin E Acetate – A cosmetic safe form of Vitamin E. In addition to being moisturizing, it prevents the other preservatives from breaking down (yet another antioxidant). It is soluble in the silicone oils, which is why it is used. It is not food safe.
Style Ingredients:
- Peppermint Extract – The source of the cool tingling. It’s surprising to me that this lube is uniform and that the peppermint oil is dissolved into the silicone, because I have made peppermint extract mixed with silicone lube and the two were like oil and water! Anyways, this is the food grade peppermint extract you can get in baker supply stores.
By The Numbers:
- Longevity: Quite Long lasting, due to the silicone lube
Rating:

- Slickness/Stickiness: very slick, due to the combination of glycerin plus the silicone oils
Rating:

- Revive-ability: Silicone lube cannot be revived, so it gets a N/A here
- Thickness: It is watery thin.
Rating:

- Non-Irritation Factor: I’d say this should be avoided by those who worry about irritating ingredients.
Rating:

- Taste: the glycerin lube tastes sicky-sweet. The silicone lube tastes like an intense, yet oily, candy cane. Don’t like silicone lubes, its not pleasant.

I love your chemical analysis here, a very nice, and interesting, twist on the classic lube review!
