Yes Water Based Lubricant
One of the things I constantly harp on in my reviews of lube is the quality of ingredients used. Lubricant is a funny item – it’s classified as a cosmetic, for external use, and as such is allowed to have cosmetic ingredients in it. Now that’s all great, but unfortunately there are plenty of lube ingredients that are not actually “go ahead and eat them†food safe.
But not Yes lube. Yes lube is awesome – made completely of food safe ingredients, it manages to kick ass as a lube on top of being made of high quality ingredients. I have used this lube for fisting, anal sex, and plan old regular PIV sex, and it has excelled at everything. The only unfortunate thing about yes lube is that I can’t get a complete ingredient list to analyze…

Ingredient Analysis:
Humectants (The slippery stuff that holds onto water) AND Thickners:
- Aloe Vera – The plant that we’re all no doubt familiar with. The “slime†in aloe is actually a thick gel substance with lubricating properties. I love it.
- Guar Gum, Xanthum Gum, Locust Bean Gum – Three standard food thickners that give this lube its thick velvety texture
Preservatives:
This is what I can’t find – according to the Yes website, all the preservatives are food safe. The reason it’s not published is that they are trying to get a patent on their formulation. Fair enough, I suppose…
Style Ingredients:
- Citric Acid – To buffer the pH and keep it to the correct physiological level.
By The Numbers:
- Longevity: This lube is quite long lasting as it is very thick. Yet it melts into natural lubrication very easily as well.
- Slickness/Stickiness: Not too sticky at all, actually, even after repeated application.
- Revive-ability: As this lube is not terribly sticky, it doesn’t revive that well.
- Thickness: Very thick!
- Non-Irritation Factor: No sensitizing ingredients or anything that should produce any sort of irritation.
- Taste: It just kind of tastes blank – like licking flour paste.

I’m a bit wary since you say it’s “very thick”… that was what I hated about Maximus. But I still want to try it.

Yeah if you hated that about maximus, you might not like this. It melts better than maximus, but…
