The Be Be, From Love Being Woman

Be Be, From Love Being A Woman

I am a hitachi lover, but sometimes I crave a lighter touch, or something that can be used easily during sex or with other toys. I have really been digging the “green” aspect of rechargeable toys as of late, but the drawback to rechargeable toys is that they need to be charged to be used. There’s nothing more frustrating than having to wait to jill off. The Be Be is the perfect, battery accepting, ergonomically designed vibrator for those times you need something to work right away. Plus, it’s packaging and design really make it appropriate as a first time vibrator, as it just looks….cute.

In A Nutshell: A cute, ergonomic, stylish and discreet vibrator.

What’s Awesome? Excellent/Great design, good amount of power

What’s Not So Awesome? Is not rechargeable yet is expensive, battery compartment very hard to open.

Rating: ★★★★☆

The Be Be is the brain child of two friends who were musing on vibrators one day as they walked along a beach. The idea, in a nutshell, was to make the ultimate woman’s accessory. Something beautiful, something discreet, something designed to make a woman feel good – because feeling good makes you feel good about yourself. And you know, they’ve done it – the Be Be is ridiculously cute, pleasantly discreet and packs quite a whallop in terms of vibration power.

Made of hard ABS plastic, the Be Be is shaped like a lazy comma, or a sci-fi ray gun. I would say that it’s shape is very similar to the Fun Factor Layaspot, the Lelo Nea, or even the Natural Contours Petite. The Be Be has a broad end, and a narrow end – the narrow end accepting batteries and providing a comfortable place to grip, the broader end being the business end with the control buttons and the center of vibration. One of the nicest subtle features of the Be Be is that all this comes together without any troublesome plastic seams around the business end of the vibe – no places for bacteria to get trapped. In fact, the Be Be is quite easy to clean – it needs to be wiped down (instead of rinsed, with the batteries removed of course), but that’s fast and simple. Being non-porous, the Be Be can be wiped down with a 10% bleach solution to effectively disinfect if you wish to share it.

The Be Be comes in a large purple and white egg shaped tin that’s decorated whimsically with flowers. The tin is further contained in a nice simple satin drawstring bag. The tin provides a nice stand for the Be Be, plus provides protection, and finally, it has a small compartment in the base to store a set of batteries – as batteries (which are included, by the by) should be removed from the toy when not in use. The battery compartment is actually pretty tough to open – I really have to force it, and feel like I’m going to break it if I’m not careful!

The Be Be turns on and off via a heart shaped control on the broad end of the toy. When held, this places the controls right where the index and middle fingers can easily access them, yet won’t mistakenly trigger. To turn on, simply press and hold the whole button stet up till a red light glows. Turn off the same way. To increase and decrease vibrations, press the halves of the heart individually. Simple, really. The vibrations range from a light humm to a deep rumble, yet are quiet enough to be muted under a blanket. The vibrations are definitely dispersed across the entire broad end, however, so those that really dig more focused vibration may have issue with this toy.

Overall, the Be Be is a charming toy, and one that I would whole heartedly recommend. At first glance, the price seems a bit high ($100USD/$130AUD) given that it is not rechargeable – but I can easily but rechargeable batteries and presto chango, it’s suddenly quite reasonably priced.

I have trouble with the battery compartment too, and also feel like I’m breaking it.

Interesting that you say it “packs quite a whallop”… I don’t feel like it’s really that strong.

Yeah the battery compartment is insanely tough to get into. It’s getting better with use.

I read in your review that you really prefer pin point stimulation – I am from the opposite camp, I think, and as a broad area vibrator, this is a strong example.

But yeah – I quite like this toy!
