Fun Factory makes some of the coolest looking sex toys around – especially if you dig toys shaped like mythical creatures and quirky animals. I’ve always been curious about these dual action “twist and shake” vibes from Fun Factory, and due to the awesomeness of TabuToys.com I’ve finally had my chance.

In A Nutshell: This is a high quality dual action vibrator made of silicone, with the shaft being on the longer side, and the ciltoral stimulator being a tongue-like tail.

What’s Not So Awesome? The vibrations don’t really transmit as well as they could, and the positing of the clit stimulator is just way too short for my anatomy.

Mary Mermaid is quite contrary to my anatomy, sadly. She did not hit any of my hot spots in the slightest. How tragic!

Mary runs on four AA batteries, which fit into the silver plastic base of this toy. The cover for the battery compartment seems a bit finicky and hard to close – I have noted that sometimes I close it so that there is a bit of a gap showing the batteries – which could lead to trouble with lube or wetness dribbling into the battery compartment, so be careful! Mary’s base contains a power button and two side by side dials that control the level of twisting and shaking. The power button is really cool, and means you can turn off the toy in an instant instead of having to dial down the twisting and shaking. It also reduces the chances of random activation in a dresser drawer – although, to be fair, one should generally not store a toy with batteries in place anyways, which would also avoid that problem.

Mary’s body is long and starts out very slim. Once she’s fully in, however, her 4.5” of insertable length swells outwards to 1.75” diameter – quite substantial. However, Mary doesn’t really twist very aggressively, and in fact her twisting is a ways up the shaft. She does not hit my g-spot at all as she twists; she simply churns deep in my vagina. If I pull Mary out to hit my g-spot, I find that I can’t get her tail to my clit at all – and furthermore, because her head is slender and she’s not very bendy, it’s still very difficult if not impossible to have her twist over my g-spot. Mary is a little noisy when she twists, as well, and would certainly be picked up from behind a closed door. Best to turn on some music before having a fling with Mary.

Mary’s mermaid tail is almost perfect – and in fact, holds a ton of potential – but just does not reach my clit. The tail is rotated sideways, somewhat, so that when it vibrates is laps like a little tongue. Unfortunately, there is very little bend in between Mary’s tail and body, so even though she doesn’t quite reach my clit, I can’t wiggle and finagle her into a position where she can. Sadly, boys and girls, the only way this toy has been able to get me off is by pulling it out entirely and resting the vibrating tail directly over my clit.

So, there’s my sad tale of my lack of stimulation from Mary Mermaid’s tail. I have seen a number of reviews of Miss Mary, and she seems to be anatomy dependent, more than anything else. She’s very nicely put together, and if her shape were slightly different I would be head over heals in love. But, sadly, she just doesn’t do it for me. Mary, Mary, quite contrary
