The Cone
Of all the sex toy stores I have had the pleasure of working with, there is no store with as much class as Black Label Sex Toys. Their selection is unparalleled in quality (don’t believe me? go look). Everything is a four or five star toy, or is a very specific niche toy (some love, some hate). The Cone is the latter; and I am pleased to report that I am in the “love” category with this particular toy.
In A Nutshell: The Cone is cool, the Cone is fun and the Cone is powerful. But the Cone is a niche toy – something one gets to compliment an existing collection of standard vibrators, specifically vibrators for clit use.
What’s Awesome? Hearty strength (due to three C cells), a unique shape with unparalleled stability and deep rumbling vibrations.
What’s Not So Awesome? It is an confusing shape that is hard to wield and makes only certain positions possible. It is difficult to use as a clit stimulator in general. Very loud. Very large and hard to store.
Rating:

What I really want is a smaller toy that does what this cone does, because this one is so damned big its size becomes its ultimate failing on many levels. Of course, there’s a lot of great stuff about this cone, and and all of those excellent qualities make this toy a solid four star toy, but wow do I wish this toy were smaller. The Cone won’t fit into a lot of dedicated sex toy cases and sex toy drawers – it’s height is 5.5″ and it’s diameter is 7.5″. That’s a pretty big volume. Granted, it is a cone so it doesn’t take up that full volume, but do keep this in mind. Perhaps you think you’ll just leave it out on a shelf – it looks cool after all – but I would suggest otherwise – the cone is made of silicone and thus attracts lint and hair like crazy.
So, storage concerns aside, The Cone is really cool. It has a really broad footprint so it is stable as can be – it sits where you put it. The makers of the cone suggest a plethora of positions for the cone, including up on the wall. The Cone is more stable and possibly more pleasurable and easy to use on solid ground – it works alright on a firmer mattress as well. On something plush, like a couch, it tends to sink in and move away from where you intend it to sit. It is indeed nice to use to sit upon while reading erotica, watching porn or giving oral sex. It feels – perhaps – better teasing the anus than it does the vagina, and when used this way it is easier to get at your clit with another toy. Used alone, it just tends to excite the area, although women with a lower g-spot may find it can pull of g-spot orgasms in the right orientation. Its rumbles are deep, shaking the whole pelvic region down to the bone, getting everything stimulated and ready to go. In combination with clitoral stimulation, it yields a really wonderful blended type orgasm, with a lot of response and focus of the sensation being spread to the areas stimulated by the cone.
The cone is generally best use for general stimulation around an orifice – sit on it so the tip of the cone dips inside slightly, which will focus the vibrations to the entrance and just inside whatever orifice is chosen. This is, of course, the area with the greatest concentration of nerves in the vagina and also in the anus. The tip is quite blunt and soft, and the cone’s angle is very gradual, so this is not at all uncomfortable. If you do use it anally, be sure and wash it well including a good little disinfectant 10% bleach wipe down before you use it vaginally again.
The Cone can also be used for clitoral stimulation, abeit with a lot more effort involved. As shown in the array of positions, the cone works well placed under the woman’s pelvis in doggie style, making sure to align the slope of the cone with the slop of the pelvis. This works alright, but takes quite a bit of effort to maintain the cone and your body positioning in a frottage friendly manner. The cone can also be laid on top of, again, aligning the pelvis’ slope with it slope. I did not find this overly comfortable because I wanted my pelvis to stay unnaturally high in order to properly grind against the cone. What did work well for me was sitting with the cone between my legs and wrapping my legs around it on the couch, or just pressing my legs together if on a harder chair. Although a bit inefficient and slow, humping The Cone like this got me off clitorally when I tried. Still, this won’t be what I turn to the cone for – I really prefer it for vaginal and anal stimulation.
Do not buy The Cone looking for a reliable late night bedroom lover -it is an accent to add into a more dedicated masturbation session, or a toy to use to ‘simmer the pot’ and get the excitement flowing pre-sex. I really cannot imagine someone actually using their toy as their primary vibrator because it is so damned hard to use it as a clit stimulator. Do buy the cone if you want something that can integrate into your current sex life and masturbation routine. Do buy The Cone if you want a cool and unique vibrator that can be used along with your current favorite.
The cone takes three C cells, and is damned powerful. It makes a hell of a lot of noise. In short, powerwise, this thing rivals the Hitachi – and that’s impressive. It has ten settings – five wonderful levels of intensity (from buzz-in-the-pants to jetplane-taking-off) and an assortment of really delicious patterns. Now I really love pulsations and such for vibrations not centered on my clit, and I love the patterns offered by the cone. Of special note is the final setting, setting ten. They call it “Orgasm” and while I don’t agree with that name, it is pretty freaking awesome. Press the left button to cycle through these ten setting. Press the right button to go straight to ‘orgasm’, then one more to turn off. Easy, right?
Get The Cone, or any other classy sex toy that suits your fancy, from Black Label Sex Toys. Thanks to Black Label for providing me with thsi toy in exchange for review.
