Tantus doesn’t JUST make dildos and buttplugs – they have a few specialty items as well like this “Beginner Ball Gag”. Pink Cherry, which sells sex toys in the US and also in Canada, stocks a huge selection of Tantus (and other) toys. I’ve never been much of a ball gag fan, really, so a “beginner” one was just up my alley…

In A Nutshell: A “ball” gag – shaped carefully to reduce jaw fatigue while still keeping the visual look and the vocal suppression of the ball gag intact.

What’s Not So Awesome? The gag isn’t that effective at muting the wearer – and the visual, although similar to the classic ball gag look, is not exactly striking.

This ball gag is great in many respects, and its what I want from a gag – but it just doesn’t do a good enough job. The gag is shaped like a ball shaped soother, basically, with a small ball that gets inserted in the mouth, and a nice narrowing where the jaw sits comfortably and easily, and finally, a wide flat base. The base has small grooves on either side which accommodate the leather straps that simply snap off and on, allowing the silicone portion to be boiled for sanitization.

All of that is excellent, but my big fat mouth just overcomes the muting factor of this gag. I can make a heck of a lot of noise when its strapped down tight – I can even wiggle most of the gag out of my mouth and speak coherently, albeit slowly. The gag, for me, just does not work for gagging. Additionally, the silicone piece is obviously made such that the bottom of the base is what would have been the bottom of the mold – the unfinished, flat surface from the poured silicone. I would much prefer the base to be finished much more neatly. As it is, it just looks….cheap.

Still, the gag does mute, and would work well in a smaller mouth, and its made intelligently and from quality materials. Its not a bad place to start if you’re experimenting with gags for the first time.
