Sasi

The Sasi is probably the most complicated sex toy I have ever used. That said, this complexity has lead me to some absolutely amazing rewards, and a whole new set of experiences at the hands (mechanical parts?) of a toy. A very special thanks to Babeland for being so generous and giving me a Sasi to road test (and test, and test, and test…); this little number has not yet left my bedside – except, of course for the times I have it clamped between my thighs.

In a Nutshell: The Sasi is not a vibrator per sae, it is a clit stimulator, an oral sex simulator, or your own personal sex bot – depending on how one likes to view these things.

What’s Awesome? The little ball on the underside of the Sasi undulates underneath a think silicone sheath, in what ever pattern and speed you fancy. It responds to the push of a button to go faster, to go slower, to vibrate in a variety of patterns, to move onto a new “move” or to “DON’T STOP!”. Plus, it remembers your 5 favorite moves from the previous session.

What’s Not So Awesome? Complete and utter vibration addicts, take heed – this toy will not get you off the way a Hitachi does. It relies on stimulation that is analogous to finger or tongue strokes, except without the associated carpal tunnel or lockjaw hazards…

Rating: ★★★★★ + (extra points for complete and utterly awesome uniqueness)

Sasi
comes packaged in an extravagant three tiered box, and gets top marks for its presentation. Assuming no jarring during shipping (mine was, but that’s OK, the box is foam padded), the Sasi is revealed when the top of the box is removed sitting proudly upon it’s floppy silicone stand, attached to the box by a small foam pedestal. TADA! Opening the bottom tier of the box reveals all the other accessories needed for optimum Sasi pleasure: a charger (with various plug heads for use all over the world), the all important instruction booklet, a warranty, and a black satin bag for storage. The Sasi itself is made of hard plastic with a replaceable silicone scrim covering its base.

First task before using the Sasi is charging – and herein lies the first challenge. The silicone plug that hides the charging port is really hard to flip up. It made me wish I had 80′s porn finger nails, and sent me running to the bathroom for a nail-file (tweezers would do as well). As annoying as this is, it does make the Sasi completely splash-proof, and it has been getting easier with practice. Sasi takes its charge surprisingly fast, approximately 30 minutes, which is just about enough time to read through and wrap one’s head around the instruction manual – and read through the instruction manual you MUST, for Sasi is not a simple turn on and go toy. Did I do this? No, but that’s beside the point.

On my inaugural trial evening of the Sasi I plugged it in and promptly went out to drink a bunch of beers with some coworkers. Upon returning home in a decently inebriated state, I pounced all over the Sasi and proceeded to try and take advantage of it. And take advantage of it I did – my drunken fingers mashed buttons, and it did things to me – wonderful things – that had me arching my back and sweating from almost the get-go. After just a few wonderfully pleasurable minutes, I came like a freight train, and when I tried to get up, my world was spinning. Now that could have been the beer, or the Sasi, or a combination of the two, but holy hell, it was intense. Am I recommending getting drunk before playing with the Sasi? No, but I’m not NOT recommending it…

The next day I decided to actually read the instruction manual and figure out how to use the Sasi. I discovered a few things. First off, the Sasi has two modes: favorites and customize. Favorites calls up the favorite five movements from the previous session (it comes pre-programmed with a standard quintet) and allows you to shuffle through them at your leisure whist playing. Customize plays the full series of 12 movements in a sequence, 20 seconds each, with the option of flipping forward or backward in the sequence is you wish, or stopping at a particular movement if you find one that begs to be savored. In either mode, the the speed of the movement can be increased or decreased by pushing on the up or down arrow, for a total of three different speeds. Firmly pressing the up arrow will initiate vibrations, and repeated firm presses of up or down will cycle through the six different vibration settings. As the movements of the ball change, the speed and vibration settings stay as you have them set. The movements of the ball can be cycled through, again in either mode, with the left and right buttons. In the customize mode, the middle button serves as the “DON’T STOP” trigger – a simple tap will hold the movement steady till left or right is pressed to initiate a new movement. The middle button also serves to turn the Sasi off and on – to turn on, press once, to turn off, press and hold till it shuts off.

See? I told you it was complicated.

Mechanics of use aside, the Sasi is a joy to use. When in customize, it memorizes the movements that were told “DON’T STOP!” and it imprints them into the favorites mode power down. Within six or so sessions with this toy, I have been able to narrow down my favorite five adequately, so now whenever I turn on the Sasi I just lie back and let me favorites do their magic. The movements the Sasi can do are best described as things like ‘J’, ‘I’, ‘U’, ‘L’, and a few smaller quick back and forth options as well. The shape of the toy is such that it rests beautifully on my mound – and I can keep it in place by squeezing together my thighs. I like the way the ball feels running all over my clit and its surrounding real estate – especially over my labia. This is not surprising, given that this is also my preference for manual stimulation. The Sasi gets me off in the same sort of time frame as I get from excellent oral sex – which sometimes means fast, but often times means a good 20-30 minutes. This, of course, means it’s hardly a toy for use when I’m in a rush, more when I’m ready to sit down and make sweet sweet love to myself. It also makes a good toy to simulate foreplay – whether I am trying to streamline sex with my partner, or to give myself an appetizer before a Hitachi orgasm main course.
