To play--you do give out a piece of yourself with the other person. It's mental & physical & intense. The relationship may not be permanent, but it IS an impact on both of you. And sometimes when you stick your neck out--you meet some REALLY great people. Love is worth the pain. And I agree--it does make you agonizingly alive.
